Placement Level Test: English CEFR A1 - A2 levels
Placement level test A1 (Beginner) - A student that holds an A1 certificate has shown they can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help and is a good start to obtaining the next level, an A2 certificate.
Placement level test A2 (Elementary) - A step up from the A1 to the A2 certificate means a person can produce sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his or her background. Obtaining an A2 certificate is an ideal stepping stone to success.
While every effort has been made to produce these level tests as accurately as possible they are only a part of the overall process in attaining a proper overall view of any students level.
